#Review Educational Alphabet Flash Cards for kids 3+

My littlest daughter Khloe is big on learning, so I jumped at the chance to test and review Educational Planets Flash Cards for kids. When they arrived, K went crazy! She couldn't wait to get them open and start learning. The flash cards come with 52 letter cards, two of each letter, an upper case and a lower case. They also include a reference card and a card with suggested activities. We decided to start out by matching the upper case letters to their lower case match. K got the hang of it quick! It helped the pictures were mostly familiar to her.

One of the best features in my opinion is that the words are spelled at the bottom, so K gets to practice her spelling. It's one of her favorite activities to do with "her cards" now. Our game goes a little like this:

Me: "Khloe, what's this??"
Khloe: "ummm... cake??"
Me: "Yes! Very good!"
Khloe: "say...how do you spell it!??"
Me: Okay, Khloe, how do you spell cake?"
Khloe: "ummmm....c...a....k....e!!! Cake!"
Me: "Awesome! You're so smart Khloe!"

Smiles all around. I love games like these. They build her confidence in a fun, educational way. They are perfect for her age group as well. Toys for 3-5 year olds She's learning phonics and to connect letters with sounds (like O to octopus!)

We've played with these cards every day since getting them. It's becoming a great bonding game! My older girls have joined in the fun too!

Educational Planet has some really unique and whimsical toys! I'm really glad I have found thier website, because the holidays are coming!! They have some great educational gifts I'm definitely adding to my shopping list!

What are your favorite types of learning games? Do your kids love flash cards? :D How do you play with them?

Review: Kindle Book Princess Sophia and the Frog IV

Princess Sophia and the Frog IV is a delightful children's book about happiness and friendship! I received the book to review and my youngest, K, was very excited about bedtime (when we read bedtime stories) so we could read a new book. Now, we usually don't read bedtime stories on electronic devices, but I have to admit it was super convenient. I read stories to all my girls at night, but for the sake of reviewing, I broke up my girls into smaller "focus groups" if you will, so I could get some feedback from my princesses. My oldest, L, who is 9 thought the book was  cute and had a good message. Since she is fluently reading chapter books, I appreciated her honest feedback. My two 7 year olds, although they mess around a lot during bedtime, sat and listened to the story, paying attention to Princess Sophia and the frogs story about friendship. K, whose attention span can be quite short, also sat and listened to the whole story, so I'd say it was the perfect length! (at least for my crew!) The words rhyme so that also keeps the story interesting and fun.

Princess Sophia and the frog teaches youngsters about feelings and friendship in a non-traditional way. Little ones learn they are in control of their own feelings and happiness. The pictures are cheery and bright, and my daughters liked that it was different than the normal princess fairy tales we sometimes read. This princess story is a must have, because it's a fun, cute story with a great message.

I would definitely check out this story for your little princesses. It's a cute story with a great positive message! Princess Sopia and the Frog IV is available on Kindle (which is available on zillions of devices with a free download!!!!!)
