Spring is finally here! The air is warmer, the sun is shining and best of all, the snow has melted! That means I can continue my weight loss routine outside! Walking is one of the easiest ways for me to get cardio exercise, and it's also free! I try to walk 30 minutes, rest and walk 30 back.
While I'm resting, I like to have a little healthy snack or drink. I usually pack frozen grapes or homemade granola. It gives me a healthy boost and my 30 minutes home has the same stamina as the first 30 minutes!
I was contacted through one of my favorite review sites to give Purely Inspired protein mixes a try! They were very generous in sending me some Chocolate and Vanilla protein mixes! I must say, I was excited to learn PURELY INSPIRED is backed by one of my very favorite NASCAR drivers, Danica Patrick! Check it out! She said “This is the best tasting plant-based protein I’ve ever tasted.” My daughter Leah especially loves to root her on during races!
Anywho, I looked into the company and products to see what I was getting myself into, and I was pleasantly surprised!!
- Purely Inspired is 100% plant based! That means it's also Dairy, Soy and Gluten free! Sutiable for anyone on a vegetarian or vegan diet!
- FREE FROM artificial dyes, flavors and sweeteners! Also doesn't contain aspartame, lactose or cholesterol.
- One serving of Purely Inspired packs more of the antioxidant vitamin C than you'd find in a serving of apples, broccoli, oranges, spinach, and blueberries combined!
- 20 vitamins and minerals!
- Contains Omega-3 (from flaxseed!) and digestive enzymes!
The protein powder comes in 3 delicious flavors, so delicious they have won a Gold Medal for superior taste compared to other plant proteins from The American Masters of Taste! How awesome is that??!!
When made into a tasty shake, these bad boys pack 16g of plant-based protein, at least 6g of fiber and no more than 2.5g of fat per serving! That's pretty perfect for someone like me!
I tried whipping up my traditional "smoothie" recipe using vanilla. Greek yogurt (blueberry) and a variety of fruits. Strawberries, bananas and silk vanilla soy milk was used. I really enjoyed this first shake, however the vanilla was very strong! I added some honey to the next batch and it balanced it right out!
As for the chocolate protein mix, I went with a bit of a different approach. Since Purely Inspired shakes are safe for kids, I thought I would make my girls a yummy chocolate peanut butter shake! Let me just say, they were very well received and I ended up making another batch right away! I used vanilla soy milk, peanut butter and bananas along with my scoop of chocolate protein powder. Yum!
Since the kids wanted to try the vanilla variety, and I was thinking the potency of the shake might make them less likely to try my future concoctions, I made vanilla pancakes! I added a scoop of protein powder to pancake mix and added additional water to make it "batter" I also used colored sprinkles! The result was fluffy, vanilla, protein pancakes! :) My kids wondered why they tasted so great so I informed them they were finally trying the vanilla protein powder! :) It was a fun morning!
I highly suggest giving Purely Inspired a try if you're seeking the greatest in protein powders! Only one scoop per shake, and it's recommended to drink 1-2 per day, before, or after working out. Or whenever you'd like one!
I like my shakes first thing in the morning, as it gives me a boost of energy without having to rely on caffeine.
